I am a complete computer novice. When I first got my PC I had to call my son over to learn how to switch on windows! I have got a little better since then and have learnt how to use my computer to write letters and surf the Internet (I am a big fan of eBay). I live in Ohio and wanted to get DSL so I could use the Internet without having to wait ages for pages to load. A friend of mine suggested that I try Akron as they had used them for some time. When I received everything I needed to get started, I followed the instructions in setting it up but for some reason I couldn't connect to the Internet. Together we checked that I had connected the cables and installed the software correctly. Once this had been checked I tried to connect again but still without success. It turned out to be something very simple. I had typed my password incorrectly! Although I used the right letters and numbers, I had typed them in the wrong case. Once this had been corrected I was on the Internet within seconds. I felt really stupid but the service rep' assured me that it happens all the time and there was no reason to be embarrassed.

Since this time I have not had to contact Akron DSL as everything has run smoothly. Assuming things continue in this way I will definitely continue to use them from now on.
